Job description

We are representing our client, a frozen bakery products manufacturer is currently seeking experienced and innovative R&D Manager Chef (NEW POSITION) to lead the R&D team for bread, Danish and frozen cake departments to be based in: Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam, Selangor.

Company Industry: Food Manufacturing (HALAL Certified)

Main Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages the R&D department, setting strategic goals and objectives to drive innovation, product development and quality improvement in frozen bakery products, especially in the areas of improving product texture, shelf life and freezing technology.
  • Coordinates with corporate customers to develop OEM frozen bakery products, addressing their specific needs and preferences.
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulations, maintaining the integrity and safety of all products.
  • Introduces and manages new technologies, with a view towards full automation.
  • Develops and implements R&D projects that enhance product quality and efficiency, while managing the budgets and resources for R&D projects to ensure efficient use of company assets.
  • Collaborating closely with production, quality assurance and marketing departments to ensure market relevance and quality, and with other departments to align R&D activities with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Monitors and keep abreast of industry trends to ensure that the company remains competitive through continuous innovation.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma / Degree in Food Science, Bakery Science background
  • 5+ years of experience within the baking or frozen food industry, with a focus on R&D.
  • Must have R&D experience in pastries, cakes or bread (either one) / frozen technology & knowledge.
  • R&D includes Lab test, new product development, enhance product appearance, cost reduction while maintaining quality, market research etc.
  • Understand the current trends, creative (Example: Current trend in non-dairy breads, gluten-free, Danish etc.. )
