About Our Client

Job Description

  • Responsible for organising and formulating the medium and long-term work objectives and business plans for the regional research centre, in alignment with the company's strategic direction.
  • Accountable for the development of complete vehicle models and components for the regional market.
  • Oversee the identification and resolution of system development issues, and lead the analysis and solution of development process risks and challenges.
  • Manage the project schedule and quality according to development tasks, implement quality error-proofing measures, and provide technical solutions for after-sales services and maintenance.
  • Organise and develop the regional capability framework for team development, in accordance with the Automotive Engineering R&D Centre's capability-building plan, ensuring continuous improvement and optimisation.
  • Foster the creation of a highly cohesive, dedicated, creative, and committed R&D team within the framework of the company's cultural strategy, with a focus on improving staff efficiency and supporting the company's long-term sustainable development.
  • Leading the Engineering & Manufacturing department for continuous improvement.
  • Managing and mentoring a diverse team of professionals.
  • Coordinating with other departments for seamless operation.
  • Complying with industry standards and regulations.

The Successful Applicant

A successful R&D Manager should have:

  • Understanding of working principles of complete vehicle and subsystem design.
  • Knowledge of the local automotive market, industry products, regulations, policies, and trends in technological development.
  • Understanding of the vehicle product development process and relevant project management knowledge.
  • Proficiency in using quality tools such as QFD, DOE, and the five core automotive industry manuals: APQP, FMEA, PPAP, MSA, and SPC.
  • Strong management, coordination, and organisational training abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with leadership abilities.
  • Strong time management skills and experience.
  • Ability to use English as a working language; fluency in Chinese is preferred.
