A fast-growing company in Malaysia's food sector seeks a Research and Development Manager to lead innovation in product development. The role involves optimizing processes, ensuring compliance, and managing a dedicated team. Candidates should have a relevant degree and at least 5 years of experience in R&D, with a strong understanding of food safety and the ability to work in challenging environments.

Lead or participate in the development of new flavors and bun categories aligned with market trends.
Optimize existing product formulations to improve quality.
Research alternative food additives to meet health-conscious demands.
2) Process and Production Support
Improve production processes to enhance efficiency or standardization.
Troubleshoot technical issues in mass production.
Assist in equipment selection or modification to match process needs.
3) Food Safety and Compliance
Ensure all R&D work complies with national food safety regulations and internal standards.
Lead product testing and registration processes.
Monitor food regulation updates to avoid compliance risks.
4) Cost Control and Supply Chain Collaboration
Reduce production cost through raw material substitution and process optimization.
Work with the Procurement Department to evaluate new suppliers and participate in raw material testing.
5) Team Management and Cross-Department Collaboration
Manage the R&D team and develop technical training programs.
Coordinate with production, quality, and marketing departments to ensure smooth product launch and mass production.

Implement assigned ad-hoc tasks as required.
Authority:
Right to reject materials and products that do not meet specified standards.
Right to define or revise product specifications.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Engineering, Grain & Oil Processing, Fermentation Engineering, or related fields.
Experience: At least 5 years of experience in food industry R&D.
Experience in frozen food or central kitchen operations is preferred.
Languages: Proficient in written English, Malay, and Chinese.
Skills:
Strong understanding of food ingredient characteristics and processing equipment.
Market sensitivity to align product innovation with consumer preferences.
Familiar with food safety systems such as HACCP, FSSC 22000
Other Requirements:
Strong leadership and management skills.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills with all levels.

Must be able to work in non-halal and cold environments.
