Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented R&D Chemist / nutritionist to play a vital role in our product development and innovation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for formulating new health food products, conducting research on nutritional content, and ensuring product safety and compliance with regulations. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with the sales/marketing team to write product proposals, providing label information, and supporting customer inquiries.

Responsibilities
1.) Product Formulation

Develop and formulate new health food products using scientific principles and innovative approaches.

Conduct laboratory experiments, tests, and analyses to optimize product formulations for quality, stability, and efficacy.

Participate in prototype development, ensuring that products meet desired sensory, nutritional, and functional attributes.

Conduct in-depth research on the nutritional content and health benefits of ingredients to optimize product formulations.

2.) Regulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance

Assist in evaluating and selecting raw materials, ensuring they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with 3rd party laboratory testing and analysis to ensure product safety, quality, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Maintain accurate records of experiments, formulations, and test results. Prepare technical reports and presentations as required.

Stay updated with relevant regulations and guidelines related to health food products and ensure compliance in product development and labeling.

3.) Production Support

Collaborate with production teams to scale up formulations from lab to manufacturing, ensuring consistency and efficiency.

4.) Customer / Marketing Support

Work closely with the sales/marketing team to understand market trends and consumer preferences and assist in writing product proposals and marketing materials.

Collaborate with sales or directly with customers to provide label information, nutritional data, and technical support as needed.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory changes related to health food product development.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or Master’s in Chemistry, Nutrition, Food Science, or related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in food product development, preferably in the health food industry.

Strong understanding of nutritional science, food chemistry, and regulatory requirements.

Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and techniques for formulation and testing.

Detail-oriented, creative, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
