Job description

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Quantity Surveying, M&E Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of quantity surveying experience in industrial construction, preferably with DB/EPC project exposure.
  • Proficient in FIDIC contract terms and conditions; familiar with international tariffs, taxation, and labor policies.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, taxation, and legal compliance in construction.
  • Excellent negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in English; ability to understand Chinese is an advantage.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Penang. In this role, you will be responsible for cost estimation, budgeting, tendering, and financial control throughout the project lifecycle. You will play a key role in ensuring that our industrial construction projects are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with financial and legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed pre-bid budgets, cost estimations, and financial plans.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and financial feasibility.
  • Analyze local construction market trends, material prices, and labor conditions.
  • Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and support tender preparation and submissions.
  • Monitor and control project costs during the construction phase.
  • Assess and certify contractors’ progress claims, variations, and final accounts.
  • Manage cost-related risks and enhance financial control throughout project execution.
