Job summary

Ecoland Landscape invites applications for a cost engineer/quantity surveyor to prepare detailed cost estimates from drawings and specifications, develop and monitor project budgets, and control costs across the project lifecycle.

The role includes supporting tender documentation, procurement strategies, contract management, site measurements, interim payments, and final accounts to ensure value for money and contract compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings and specifications.
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and monitored throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Provide advice on procurement strategies to ensure the best value for money.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure clear terms and conditions.
• Monitor compliance with contract terms and manage any variations or disputes that arise.
• Track project expenditures and compare them against the budget, identifying any discrepancies.
• Prepare regular financial reports for stakeholders, detailing costs incurred and forecasts for future spending.
• Analyze project designs and specifications to identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
• Propose alternative materials or methods that can reduce costs.
• Conduct site measurements to assess the progress of construction and verify that work aligns with contracts.
• Prepare interim payment applications for subcontractors based on completed work.
• Prepare final accounts at the end of the project, ensuring all costs are accounted for and settled.
• Negotiate any final adjustments with clients and subcontractors.
