Quality Technician - Your future position?

As the Quality Technician , you will conduct periodic inspections and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with safety regulations, specifications, and standards. You will report to the Quality Manager and will be based in Ayer Keroh, Melaka.

Sounds interesting? In this exciting role you also will be responsible in:

  • Log and manage samples and sample flow within Quality Control (QC).
  • Conduct chemical, physical, and sensory evaluations of products and incoming ingredients according to current Givaudan specifications.
  • Enter test results into SAP promptly, leading to acceptance or rejection of samples.
  • Communicate rejections and updates to key contacts in Quality, Operations, Purchasing, and Customer Care as needed, using email, system notes, or calls.
  • Perform basic equipment calibrations according to established calibration procedures.
  • Troubleshoot instruments, equipment, and quality deviations in the laboratory.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within QC processes.
  • Maintain a hygienic and safe working environment.
  • Provide backup and support to team members as necessary.
  • Perform administrative tasks within QC.

Your professional profile includes:

  • Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of QA/QC work experience in food-related industries is good-to-have. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply!
  • Proficient in computer literacy skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
  • Practical skills in laboratory and/or Quality Control (QC) techniques, including weighing balances, densitometers, refractometers, moisture balances, Karl Fischer titrators, sieve testing equipment, and gas chromatography (GC).
  • Knowledge of chemical substances, hazardous materials, and relevant local regulations.
  • Team-player and strong communication/negotiation skills.
  • Capability to conduct sensory evaluations.
  • Able to work in shifts.
