A leading company in the automotive sector is seeking a Quality Technician to conduct lab testing and analysis, ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role includes supporting quality system implementations, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates should possess a diploma in engineering or a related field, along with relevant QC laboratory experience.
1. Laboratory Testing & Analysis
• Conduct testing on raw materials and finished parts to ensure meets with specifications and report results accurately.
• Carry out automotive cleanliness testing in line with VDA 19 / ISO 16232 standards, preparing parts, analyzing results, and documenting findings.
• To ensure the routine testing is comply to the quality plan and SOP.
• Participate in verification and validation study related to process and product quality issues, which include verification test on final product quality.
• Record, analyze, and maintain test data to ensure traceability and compliance with product TDS and customer standards.
• Maintain lab cleanliness and organization according to 5S standards.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed in all lab operations.
• Support incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities as required.
2. Quality System Compliance
• Support implementation and maintenance of IATF 16949 quality system requirements within lab and shop floor activities.
• Assist in preparation of documentation for PPAP, control plans, FMEA, and work instructions.
• Participate in internal and customer audits, contributing to corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts.
3. Calibration & Equipment Management
• Coordinate with external calibration service providers when required.
• Maintain laboratory testing equipment and instrumentation in good operating conditions in accordance to approved procedures.
4. Document Control Support
• Assist in document control activities, including creation, revision, and archival of quality-related documents (e.g., SOPs, WI, specifications).
• Ensure that only controlled and current documents are used across lab and production areas.
• Help maintain ISO/IATF compliant document and record retention systems.
• Ensure a proper disposal of quality record and retention sample.
5. Communication & Teamwork
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and maintenance to resolve quality issues.
• Communicate findings, issues, and improvement ideas clearly through reports and discussions.
Qualifications/Requirement:
Diploma in Engineering (Quality, Engineering, Science, or related technical field) and preferably with some working experience or equivalent
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience working in a QC laboratory within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
