The Metrology Manager will lead and mentor the Metrology department, driving continuous improvement initiatives, training programs, and the adoption of best practices. The role emphasizes achieving key performance indicators, fostering a preventive mindset, and ensuring customer and product quality standards are met, all while upholding VAT's core values of Integrity, Teamwork, Customer Centricity, and Innovation.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the Metrology department in terms of technicality and management.
  • Create and present trending metrics reports on metrology key KPIs.
  • Develop quality improvement strategies and targets that support the company's goals.
  • Prepare and analyze operation quality performance for continual improvement strategy planning, using the PDCA approach.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding measurement, SPC, and data analytics within the Metrology role.
  • Identify and analyze issues, defects, and other problems, particularly recurring issues across multiple products; recommend and facilitate solutions to prevent recurrences.
  • Ensure out-of-control situations are managed effectively through well-defined Out of Control Action Plans (OCAP).
  • Oversee and manage all Metrology/Inspection equipment.
  • Develop and use measurement methods and equipment to determine the dimensional features of products to conform to design specifications.
  • Require 8 to 15 years of experience in Metrology or Machining Field.
  • Possess at least a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Mechanical – Manufacturing Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with CMM programming software such as Mcosmos, PC-DMIS, Calypso, etc.
  • Knowledge in 3D modeling CAD design, manufacturing, and machining processes of jigs & fixtures (CAD/CAM).
  • Knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) and Management System Analysis (MSA).
  • Profound knowledge of Statistical Process Control (Cpk, Ppk, and SPC).
  • Knowledge of QMS, ISO 9001, and quality fundamentals (Problem solving, DMAIC, FMEA).
  • ISO 1101 & ASME Y14.5 certification or knowledge is an added advantage.
