A leading logistics and transport company in Malaysia is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure that products and processes meet established standards. The role involves developing quality management systems, conducting inspections, and analyzing data to support continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the semiconductor sector. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
The Quality Engineer ensures that products and processes meet established standards by designing quality control systems, performing inspections, analyzing data, and implementing corrective actions. This role supports continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence within a manufacturing environment—preferably in the semiconductor sector.
Develop and implement Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Ensure consistent application of quality standards across production lines
Conduct inspections and testing of raw materials, components, and finished goods
Identify and document non-conformities and initiate corrective actions
Analyze quality metrics and customer feedback to detect trends and improvement opportunities
Prepare and present detailed quality reports to management
Lead investigations into product or process failures
Implement preventive and corrective actions using structured problem-solving tools
Ensure adherence to Malaysian regulations (e.g., Employment Act, PDPA, OSHA) and internal standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
Conduct internal audits and support external audit readiness
Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues
Support new product introduction and process validation activities
Drive initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies
Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement
Train quality inspectors and production staff on SOPs and quality tools
Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, inspections, and corrective actions
Analytical Thinking and Data Interpretation
Strong Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting
Clear Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
Technical Proficiency in SPC, Minitab, and engineering principles
Attention to Detail in inspections and documentation
Project Management and Initiative Ownership
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (Semiconductor preferred)
Familiarity with ISO 9001, or similar quality standards
Certification in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent is an advantage
