Job summary

Molex (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQA) for stamping and plating to lead quality improvements and drive robust corrective actions. You will analyze failures, perform root-cause investigations, and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to specifications.

The role emphasizes data-driven problem solving, development of inspection gates, and preparation of 8D reports to close out corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science or Engineering discipline is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer is required.
• Ability to perform engineering analyses and drive to the root cause of processing problems.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, including guiding less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Analyze product failures to define corrective and preventive actions and respond to customer complaints.
• Communicate with customers with data summaries, updates, and corrective action reports.
• Coordinate with Quality personnel and cross-functional departments to resolve product quality issues.
• Participate in product quality planning and control processes based on customer specifications.
• Inform the quality management team regarding customer feedback and expectations on product quality.
• Prepare and update quality reports and procedures as required by customers and internal procedures.
• Train and guide the quality team in identifying and developing problem-solving methodologies to resolve issues.
• Prepare 8D reports for customers, including root cause analysis and corrective actions, and deliver on time.
• Execute corrective actions documented in 8D reports to ensure actions are implemented and closed.
• Review and develop inspection gates in stamping and plating to strengthen detection.
• Take responsibility for quality of stamping and plating parts and resolve production issues.
• Perform process line audits to assess product and process quality.
• Drive improvements for customer complaints and internal quality issues.

As aManufacturing Quality Engineer (MQA) for Stamping & Plating, your primary purpose is todevelop and manage stamping and plating quality issuesby driving effective problem solving, improving internal processes, and ensuring strong customer responsiveness and product quality performance.

Our Team

You will join theConsumer & Commercial Solution – QAorganization in Malaysia, partnering withall levels in the plant and other Molex entitiesto resolve quality topics and strengthen processes. You will also work withexternal counterpartsto support customer quality needs and expectations.

What You Will Do

Analyze product failures todefine corrective and preventive actionsand respond effectively to customer complaints.

Communicate with customers in a timely manner by providingdata summaries, customer updates, and corrective action reports.

Coordinate with Quality personnel and cross-functional departments todiscuss and resolve product quality issuesraised by customers.

Participate in product quality planning and control processes based oncustomer specifications and requirementsinitiated by customer quality issues.

Execute the corrective actions documented in 8D reports to ensure committed actions areimplemented and closed.

Review and develop suitable and effectiveinspection gatesin stamping and plating to strengthen detection and prevent leak-out.

Take responsibility for ensuring the quality of stamping and plating parts andresolving quality issues encountered in production.

Perform process line audits toassess product and process quality.

Drive improvements forcustomer complaints and internal quality issues, including participation in quality improvement projects.

DriveQAP reduction.

Conduct dailyMRBactivities for material disposition.

Performdaily process line audits.

Participate in3rd-party certification body auditsandcustomer audits.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in aScience or Engineeringdiscipline.

Minimum3 years of experienceas a Quality Engineer.

Ability to performengineering analysesand drive to theroot causeof processing problems.

Strong organizational skills with the ability tomanage multiple projectsto specific timelines.

Effective communication and collaboration skills, including written communication, one-on-one discussions, and group meetings (with interpersonal skills sufficient to guide less experienced engineers).

What Will Put You Ahead

Experience as aManufacturing Quality Engineer.

Minimum5 years of experienceas a Quality Engineer in a related field/area.

Familiarity withdatabase development, SPC software, and design of experiments (DOE).

Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Beltcertification.
