Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Technology Malaysia (MBTMY), part of the Mercedes-Benz Group family, is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive automated testing across enterprise software. You will implement and maintain scalable test automation, collaborate with product owners and developers, and ensure quality through CI/CD and risk-based testing.

The role requires 6+ years in software testing, strong English communication, and experience with UI/API automation, Agile teams, and modern testing tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelorlevel or higher in IT related field is required.
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in software testing, QA, test automation, or related field.

Job Description

• Implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated testing solutions for enterprise software systems based on one or more technologies or products.
• Collaboration with product owners, developers, and stakeholders to understand product requirements and define comprehensive test strategies.
• Conception, design, and development of scalable test automation frameworks, reusable test components, and reliable quality engineering solutions.
• Independent and self-responsible implementation and quality assurance of product increments, including test automation, CI/CD integration, security and compliance testing, and defect management.
• Development and execution of automated UI, API, integration, regression, and end-to-end test suites.
• Root cause analysis, defect tracking, quality risk assessment, and continuous improvement of testing processes.
• Creation and maintenance of test strategies, test cases, quality metrics, and technical documentation as part of a software development project.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years’ working experience in software testing, quality assurance, test automation, or a related field is required.
• Education minimium Degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• Experience with Agile methodologies and working in cross-functional product teams.
• Strong hands-on experience in UI and API test automation.
• Experience with free and open-source technologies and enterprise tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

IT, software testing, or programming-related certification is an advantage.

• Designs and develops reliable, scalable, and maintainable enterprise test automation solutions.
• Advises product teams and customers on testability, quality risks, automation strategy, and quality engineering best practices.
• Leads automation initiatives and supports or mentors medium and large quality engineering teams.
• Presents test strategies, quality insights, risks, and automation solutions at customer and expert level.
