You will drive process initiatives that ensure compliance with customer requirements, regulatory agencies, government regulations, and engineering specifications while instilling site accountability for governance of the quality system, product acceptance, product quality, and customer complaints.
Overall Purpose of the Role:
Responsible for ensuring that the products produced meet quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to. Ensure incoming materials meet required quality standards. Responsible for identifying and raising quality issues and for resolving them swiftly to ensure zero impact on the customer. Support new product introductions to ensure the robustness of product builds. Work in a team environment to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste, and continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements. Manage customer-specific requirements and offer technical support. Responsible for multiple New Product Introduction projects requiring innovative solutions where results are key to successful completion of major projects. Work mostly independently with minimal supervision, with work reviewed at project milestones and/or on completion by Senior Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with end users and respond to their quality complaints. Reduce product warranty costs and parts per million (PPM).
- Define product safety risk assessments for each customer complaint as required.
- Follow the Honeywell RMA process and review all preventive and corrective actions. Lead the Management Operating System (MOS) for all 8D creation and follow-up in the South-East Asia region.
- Lead quality holds and recalls approval and release in the South-East Asia market.
- Perform incoming inspection for each batch delivered to Malaysia DC and make acceptance or rejection decisions independently.
- Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives in the South-East Asia region to achieve better quality performance and meet yearly Asia business goals.
- Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) for PPE in Malaysia DC and conduct regular QMS audits.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), Sustaining, and Value Engineering Cost Engineering (VECE) product quality validation.
- Responsible for regular product validation plans, testing, and reporting.
- Collaborate with marketing for regional Voice of Customer (VOC).
- Define, review, maintain, and improve Product Failure Catalogue jointly with Product Quality and Manufacturing Quality.
- Coordinate with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) for supplier audits, production transfers, and PPAP approval.
- Report on region quality metrics such as PPM, COPQ, key customer complaints, and aging times to quality and business leadership.
Key Experience & Capabilities:
- Initiative and judgment in work methods, goal interpretation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Self-supervising within divisional management's guidance.
- Basic knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA.
- Familiarity with TS16949 and ISO9000 standards.
- Proficiency with quality tools (Sampling Inspection, Measurement, CPK, 8D, CAPA, PPM, COPQ, audit, QMS).
- Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Data collection and analysis abilities.
- Understanding of cost and financial impacts.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
