Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. in Penang seeks a Lead Quality Assurance professional to manage QMS, audits, and document control. You will develop and integrate document control systems, coordinate reviews of customer requirements, and ensure ISO compliance across processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• 1–2 years in quality engineering preferred.
• Work well with individuals at all levels inside and outside the organization.
• Experience with quality tools (FMEA, 8D, SPC, MSA) and ISO QMS.
• Able to perform internal audits and ensure process compliance.
• Proficient with MS Office; familiarity with AI tools is a plus.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver results.

Job description

Lead Quality Assurance and Quality Management System function, which includes Internal/External Audit, Customer Visits/Audits, Product/Manufacturing Process Audits and Document Control. Develop and integrate Document Control System. Establish necessary processes and procedures, which would ensure essential security and controls in place for efficient specifications generation and release. Coordinate reviews of customer specific requirements and maintain approved specific requirements and warrants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain effectiveness and compliance of the company's Quality Management System in according to the ISO Standards.
• Developing and implementing quality control systems such as create, review and update inspection work instruction, inspection checklist, control plan or special inspection instructions.
• Ensure written Standard Operation Procedures and its related procedures are effectively maintained and implemented and review when necessary.
• Support on the new product qualification process and also developing the first article inspection reports.
• Monitoring and analyzing quality performance.
• Compile and analyze outgoing inspection data using statistical tools.
• Collaborating with operations and manufacturing team to develop and implement controls and improvements.
• Set-up and maintain filing and archives system for all project related deliverables.
• Handle and verify any non-conforming product and lead the MRB for disposition.
• Improve and establish reject criteria for standardization.
• Assist QA Department Head in quality activities, quality issues or any other support required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering or any equivalent degree
• Preferable with 1-2 years of working experience in related field (preferably in quality engineering).
• Proven ability to work productively with individuals at all levels inside and outside the organization.
• Experience in quality tools (FMEA, 8D, SPC, MSA etc), quality management system (ISO), and basic GR&R knowledge.
• Able to perform the internal audit and ensure the compliance in the manufacturing process flow.
• Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office application (MS Word, Ms Excel etc)
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
• Able to work in the fast-moving and deliver the results accordingly.

Performance in this position is evaluated objectively through Quality system performance.

Performance in this position is evaluated subjectively by supplier quality improvement, customer confidence and satisfaction, sustain the ISO certificates.
