Job Overview

The TE PBL Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing quality management for Private/Brand Label (PBL) suppliers. The role involves leading and collaborating with a team to maintain high quality and performance standards across all TE products from PBL suppliers. This position requires the ability to drive suppliers towards quality improvements and to work with TE's internal teams to meet quality goals, with a focus on delivering high-quality products for an exceptional customer experience.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve all KPIs supporting the business goals.
  • Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives with suppliers based on TE and customer requirements.
  • Handle customer complaints, work with TE CQE or directly with customers to address issues, verify root causes, and ensure follow-up actions.
  • Investigate quality issues, implement effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct regular quality or process audits for suppliers.
  • Develop and report supplier performance metrics to top management.
  • Assess supplier performance and provide training as needed.
  • Improve CoPQ and yield, conduct management reviews, and implement actions.
  • Define cosmetic standards and QIP dimensions, and drive supplier adherence.
  • Coordinate annual and onsite process audits in response to quality issues or customer complaints.
  • Manage NPI and migration projects, including BKM, GR&R, FAAR, Safe Launch, sample verification, and PPAP preparation.
  • Implement product process control, identify risks, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Verify 5M1E change controls, follow approval processes, and implement on the supplier side.
  • Monitor and summarize supplier quality performance, request improvements for riskier suppliers.

Requirements:

  • B.S. degree (or higher) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8-12 years of experience in supplier quality or related quality functions; experience in connector, cable assembly, cage assembly, or antenna manufacturing is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of supplier management; ISO9001/IATF16949 internal auditor certification preferred.
  • Understanding of connector, cable assembly, antenna, busbar quality requirements, including measurement techniques.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in quality tools such as BKM, Cpk, SPC, 8D, FMEA, Gage R&R, Poka Yoke.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills to bridge TE and suppliers on quality issues.
  • Willingness to travel periodically (25-50%).
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Experience in connector, cable assembly, antenna, or busbar manufacturing is advantageous.
