Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business unit has delivered over 4,000 projects in the past 15 years. Our portfolio covers a wide range of transmission and substation applications, facilitating reliable and efficient system integration of the future digital electric network with minimal environmental impact.
We provide integrated systems, solutions, and services across our DC and AC fields, including HVDC, Substations, FACTS, and Grid and Power Quality solutions like offshore wind connections and semiconductors. We also offer Power Consulting for key energy system segments such as renewables, transmission, distribution, and e-transportation solutions.
The opportunity:
This role focuses on Business Process Quality, aiming to develop, identify, analyze, and improve existing general business processes (non-manufacturing). Responsibilities include applying process definition, improvement, and design methodologies to enhance quality, reduce costs, boost efficiency and productivity, and increase customer satisfaction. The role involves developing documentation such as business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, and gap analyses. It also includes planning and implementing quality assurance and compliance processes, supporting training and change management activities, and collaborating with project management and project quality teams to ensure project success in quality, supplier, and customer satisfaction. Advising the BU Operations Manager on high-quality risks during project execution is also part of the role.
How you’ll make an impact:
You will promote behavioral change to improve performance through programs and initiatives, addressing barriers to change, and designing the Quality & Continuous Improvement functions by influencing key stakeholders like senior management. You will support strategy deployment to align with product line strategies.
You will ensure the Voice of the Customer is integrated into the business by utilizing feedback processes such as surveys and complaint resolution, challenging management with customer feedback, and coaching teams to evaluate risks and solutions from a customer perspective. You will work to prevent mistakes and defects, ensuring quality requirements are met, and drive process management to deliver consistent results while minimizing variation and maximizing efficiency. You will perform assessments and audits to improve processes, leveraging risks, failures, and non-conformances.
You will establish and maintain effective internal control systems, monitor and report quality metrics, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. You will deploy continuous improvement strategies using methodologies like L6S, aligning projects and initiatives with organizational goals. You will oversee corrective and preventive actions, track progress through KPIs, and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) including external certifications.
You will lead the deployment of process management across the organization, develop and implement quality tools, analyze KPIs, and ensure conformance with regulations. You will support staffing, development, and leadership of the local Quality & CI team, providing training, mentoring, and coaching to build talent within your location. Your background:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience in quality assurance/control, project management, and business process improvement, data analysis.
Understanding of ISO 9001:2015, broad quality assurance and control knowledge, ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Knowledge of Taiwanese business manners, excellent presentation and communication skills in Mandarin and English (TOEIC 800+ preferred).
Familiarity with Six Sigma, 7 QC & 8-D tools, 5S, Kaizen; GB or BB certification is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools.
Strong stakeholder management skills.
