Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is mandatory.
• Significant experience in Quality Management and Continuous Improvement within industrial, power, energy, electrical, manufacturing, or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards, certification processes, and Quality Management Systems.

Hitachi Energy Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Quality & Continuous Improvement leader to drive excellence across the local operating unit. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Quality Management System, driving operational excellence initiatives, ensuring compliance with international standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the business. This is a strategic leadership position requiring strong stakeholder management, quality governance, and change management capabilities. Based on hiring discussions with Narasimharao Nandula, this role is a senior replacement position supporting the local operating unit's Quality and Continuous Improvement agenda.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Lead and continuously improve the local operating unit's Quality Management System (QMS).
• Drive deployment of Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve operational performance, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, quality policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence methodologies across the organization.
• Monitor quality performance metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive process standardization and sustainable improvements.
• Support customer audits, certification audits, and internal quality assessments.
• Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to stakeholders on best practices in quality and process improvement.
• Collaborate with local, regional, and global teams to align quality strategies and drive business objectives.

Your Background

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Significant experience in Quality Management and Continuous Improvement within industrial, power, energy, electrical, manufacturing, or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards, certification processes, and Quality Management Systems.
• Mandatory Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Proven track record of driving business-wide continuous improvement initiatives and delivering measurable operational results.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex industrial or engineering environment.
• Experience within power, electrical, transmission, distribution, transformer, or broader energy industries is highly preferred.
