About This Role
Job purpose:
Ensure safety in all processes and tasks, promptly reporting any potential hazards. Comply with CAAM, NAA, customer, and organizational requirements, and develop or update internal policies and procedures as needed. Address threats to requirement achievement and identify improvement opportunities. Consider potential consequences and resource availability when planning changes. Conduct training to impart necessary knowledge to employees. Protect documented information from unintended alteration, ensuring availability, legibility, and proper retention or disposal with access control.
Conduct self-governance and gather feedback to maintain adherence to requirements and performance monitoring, implementing corrective actions as needed. Participate in internal and external audits, assisting in closing audit findings. Communicate updates and feedback to relevant stakeholders to meet customer satisfaction and expectations. Engage in CAE and inter-department programs/trainings to promote organizational alignment, collaboration, and teamwork. Consistently practice and demonstrate CAE culture.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Establish an independent quality system and provide quality assurance set-ups to ensure conformance to the organization MTOE and compliance with the requirements of CAAM.
- Responsible to the Head of Engineering Training on quality matters and has direct access to the Accountable Manager in the event of any reported discrepancy not adequately attended to.
- To develop the MTOE and ensure all changes to the Exposition and associated manual(s) and document(s) are notified immediately to the CAAM.
- Implementation of a Compliance Monitoring Program (CMP) in which, conformance with all procedures is reviewed at regular intervals, and any observed non-conformance or poor standards are brought to the attention of the person concerned via his/her manager.
- Ensuring all corrective action necessary for eliminating non-compliance from the responsible person, and ensuring that these corrective actions are initiated and, when completed, are efficient and meet their intended purpose.
- Ensuring that the Accountable Manager is informed of any reported discrepancy not being adequately addressed or requiring intervention, as necessary.
- To make recommendations to the Accountable Manager, Head of Engineering Training and Chief Examiner on modifications and improvements to the training program and examination process.
- To participate in the selection of Instructors, Knowledge Examiner & Practical Assessor to ensure they possess the necessary qualifications & to issue authorization.
- To review and discuss the overall quality performance during the Management Review Meeting held quarterly.
- Represent CAE Engineering Training to consult and liaise with CAAM, and relevant Authorities on engineering training quality matters and deviation to the agreed process in this MTOE.
- Additionally, hold role as Engineering instructor and:
i)Conduct CAE Controlled Course (CCC) as per the Master Roster and to the policy established in this Exposition.
ii)Develop and revise training document (MTP, TN&IP, SPTL) as assigned.
iii)The delivery of training appropriately in accordance with the authorisation held and the policy of this Exposition. Always maintain high standard of instructional technique.
Qualifications And Skills
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree / diploma in Aviation, Engineering, Quality Management, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- Professional Certifications in Quality Management Systems (QMS), such as ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, or equivalent certifications.
Experience
Minimum 3 years experiences in quality assurance or quality control within an aircraft maintenance, technical or maintenance training environment inclusive instructional experience.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining Quality and Safety (QS) frameworks within a regulated industry, preferably aviation.
- Experience in auditing and compliance, including leading internal and external audits.
Skills
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to aviation training and compliance.
- Expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining QMS according to ISO standards.
- Proficiency in using Quality Management Software and tools such as SharePoint, document control systems, and data analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and root cause analysis.
- Ability to develop and implement risk management plans and conduct risk assessments.
- Proficiency in planning, conducting, and leading internal and external audits.
- Effective leadership and team management skills.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- Skills in aligning quality objectives with organizational goals.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex quality concepts to various stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across the organization.
- Proficiency in managing customer interactions and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Strong problem-solving skills for conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Analytical skills to identify improvement opportunities and implement effective solutions.
- Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and completeness of quality documentation and records.
Working Conditions
- Predominantly office-based with occasional travel to training sites and regulatory bodies.
- Regular interaction with various departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment with quality standards.
- Standard working hours, typically 40 hours per week.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed, especially during audits, reviews, or when addressing critical quality issues.
- Mostly sedentary work, with some requirements to move around the office and training facilities.
- May involve occasional lifting of files, documents, and equipment related to quality assurance activities.
- Occasional travel to audit sites, regulatory bodies, and training locations.
- May require travel to attend conferences, workshops, and professional development programs.
- Must adhere to all organisational safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including maintaining confidentiality and data security.
