Quality Assurance Manager

Responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and safety of all products manufacturing in the plant, the Quality Assurance Manager requires a deep understanding of food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality control processes. The Quality Assurance Manager will lead a team to monitor, analyze and improve product quality, ensuring that all food safety protocols are strictly followed; whilst collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain a culture of food safety and quality throughout the organization.

Develop and implement quality assurance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and customer expectations which includes HACCP, GMP, Halal, VHM, ISO 9001, FSSC 2200, Food Defense and Fraud Prevention and other quality standard practiced by the organization.

Manage quality assurance programs; oversee quality assurance systems are adequately complied to whilst identifying areas for improvements in product quality, safety, and processes.

Lead the QAQC team; supervise and mentor a team of quality assurance executives and quality control officers, ensuring all team members are trained on the latest food safety protocols and quality control measures.

Validate documentation systems, inspections and internal audits of production processes, raw material, and finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements; whilst working with external auditors to ensure certifications are maintained.

Collaborate with production, supply chain, and research and development teams to establish and maintain quality control measures throughout the product life cycle, from sourcing to distribution.

Custodian of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product quality, process efficiency, and customer complaints. Take appropriate actions to address deviations and improve performance.

Lead investigations into product quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformance events. Analyze data, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive (CAPA) actions to address deficiencies.

Supplier Quality Management: Lead supplier audits and evaluations to ensure the quality and safety of raw materials and ingredients used in production, whilst working closely with procurement and suppliers to ensure company’s quality standards are consistently met.

Stay updated on industry trends, emerging regulations, and best practices in food safety and quality assurance. Make recommendations for continuous improvement and training programs.

Provide ongoing training and coaching to various plant personnel on food safety and quality standards.

Perform any other work-related task as assigned by superior.

Requirements:

Bachelor in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Biology or any related field

Preferred Master in Food Technology, Food Science or Food Biology

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Food Technology/ Food Science/ Food Biology/ Food Nutrition/ Dietetics or equivalent.

Required skill(s) experience in quality assurance, quality compliance, HACCP & GMP, FSSC or ISO 22000 certified

Has implementation knowledge of GFSI, BRC and Safety & Health (OSH)

Attended Halal Executive certified course

Working experience in Food Manufacturing will be added advantage

At least 5 – 10 year(s) of relevant working experience in the related field is required for this position

Ability to converse in Malay & English
