Education
Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA), Factories and Machinery Act 1967 (FMA), Fire Service Act 1988 (FSA) and other related regulations.
- Conduct and update risk assessments to ensure appropriate risk controls are implemented.
- Deliver safety induction training to visitors and contractors.
- Conduct regular workplace safety inspections, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills.
- Conduct emergency equipment inspections (first aid kits, spill kits).
- Organize safety and health training for employees.
- Support investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Quality Management: Support and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System; conduct internal quality audits, inspections, and assist in corrective/preventive actions; investigate customer complaints and deviations and assist in root cause analysis; coordinate with QC and Production on quality improvement initiatives; monitor compliance with environmental requirements (e.g., Environmental Quality Act 1974), particularly scheduled waste and wastewater; ensure proper segregation, labeling, and disposal of wastes as required by law and Group level; maintain environmental monitoring records (wastewater, scheduled waste and recycled waste); support sustainability programs and pollution prevention initiatives.
- Documentation & Others: Maintain QSHE documentation and records as per ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards; prepare and update monthly QSHE reports, KPI dashboards, and safety performance summaries; participate in internal and external audits.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years’ experience in HSE field. Fresh graduates are welcome.
- Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field.
- Sound knowledge of Malaysian HSE regulations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) is an advantage.
