Job description

Summary

Conduct testing, verify, and validate the quality of products produced in the Malaysia plant. Participate in cross-departmental teams (Production, Engineering, etc.) regarding complex QRC issues (e.g., regulatory changes, product recalls). Provide support to manufacturing operations and conduct audits of internal QA programs and related documentation for the Malaysia plant. Ensure compliance with procedures related to product safety and quality. Stay current with food safety, quality regulations, policies, and issues; provide guidance and support to project activities in the plant.

Summary of Major Duties
Compliance
  1. Verify production activities to meet quality, safety specifications, and regulatory standards. Work with plant personnel to ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of food processing equipment to meet GMP, Food Safety, and allergen requirements.
  2. Validate quality processes by ensuring product specifications and quality attributes are met; measure production; document evidence; update quality assurance procedures.
  3. Control production processes to ensure compliance with laid-down specifications.
  4. Assist Senior QRC Technician in authorizing the release of in-process and outgoing products.
  5. Conduct testing on work processes and record all in-process checks as per Senior QRC members' instructions to achieve objectives.
  6. Assist Senior QRC Technician in handling customer complaints professionally, ensuring proper management and timely responses.
  7. Assist in tasks related to product/process improvement and forward findings for further action.
  8. Participate in other projects or tasks as assigned by the company.
Subject Matter Expert

Maintain and improve product quality through testing and recording in-process checks. Knowledge of Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) sampling plans is required for in-process quality checks. Conduct finished goods inspections to ensure products meet quality standards and tolerances.

  • Conduct Food Handler Training (FHT) for new hires and maintain Food Handler School qualifications.
  • Conduct training for Halal Management System, including refresher and onboarding sessions.
  • Perform internal audits for FSSC22000 and Halal Management System.
  • Review and verify food safety documents as a PCQI within stipulated timelines.
  • Assist Food Technologist in Quality Design Review (QDR) processes.
  • Assist in documenting Product Technical Specifications received from R&D.
Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in implementation using PEP program elements such as System Control Plans, SSOP, HACCP, Weight Control, and Consumer Complaint Reduction. Support troubleshooting efforts.

Education and Experience Requirements

Degree, Technical Certificate, or Diploma in Food Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 1 year (Degree) or 3 years (Diploma) in food manufacturing. Experience in chocolate/confectionery manufacturing is an advantage.
