Job description

Summary

Conduct testing, verify, and validate the quality of products produced in the Malaysia plant. This includes participating in cross-departmental teams (Production, Engineering, etc.) to address complex QRC issues (e.g., regulatory changes, product recalls). Provides support to manufacturing operations and conducts audits of internal QA programs and related documentation for the Malaysia plant. Responsible for verifying compliance with procedures related to product safety and quality. Must stay current on food safety, quality regulations, policies, and issues, providing guidance and support for project activities in the plant.

Compliance:

  1. Verify that production activities meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with plant personnel to ensure proper cleaning and sanitization of food processing equipment to meet GMP, food safety, and allergen requirements. Validate quality processes by ensuring product specifications and attributes are met, measuring production, documenting evidence, and updating quality assurance procedures.
  2. Control production processes to ensure compliance with specifications.
  3. Assist Senior QRC Technician in authorizing the release of in-process and outgoing products.
  4. Conduct testing on work processes and record all in-process checks as per Senior QRC members' requirements.
  5. Assist Senior QRC Technician in handling customer complaints professionally, ensuring timely management and responses to product complaints and rejects.
  6. Support tasks related to product/process improvement and coordinate with relevant parties for further action.
  7. Participate in other projects or tasks as assigned by the company.

Subject Matter Expert:

Maintain and improve product quality through testing and recording in-process checks. Knowledge of Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) sampling plans is required for in-process quality checks. Conduct finished goods inspections to ensure products meet quality standards and tolerances.

  • Conduct Food Handler Training (FHT) for new hires and maintain Food Handler School qualifications.
  • Deliver Halal Management System training, including refresher and onboarding sessions.
  • Perform internal audits for FSSC22000 and Halal Management System as a qualified internal auditor.
  • Review and verify food safety documents as a PCQI.
  • Assist Food Technologists in Quality Design Review (QDR) processes.
  • Support documentation of Product Technical Specifications received from R&D.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for improvement and assist in implementing them using PEP program elements such as System Control Plans, SSOP, HACCP, Weight Control, and Consumer Complaint Reduction.

  • Support Food Technologists in troubleshooting efforts.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Degree, Technical Certificate, or Diploma in Food Science or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 1 year (Degree) or 3 years (Diploma) in food manufacturing. Experience in chocolate/confectionery plant environments is an advantage.
