Position Overview: The QMS Assistant cum Safety Support plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards and maintaining a safe working environment within the organization. This position involves managing various aspects of ISO certification, safety protocols, and supporting the implementation of safety measures across different departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• ISO Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to ISO standards relevant to the organization's operations.
• Coordinate ISO audits, inspections, and certifications.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to ISO standards, including policies, procedures, and manuals.
• Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with ISO requirements and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address non-conformities and implement corrective actions.

Stay updated with changes in ISO standards and regulations to ensure continuous compliance.

2. Safety Support:

• Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and potential risks in the workplace.
• Provide support in developing safety training programs and materials for employees.
• Facilitate safety training sessions and workshops for staff members to raise awareness and promote a safety-conscious culture.
• Monitor and evaluate safety performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of safety initiatives.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.

3. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near misses, and safety-related activities.
• Prepare regular reports on safety performance, compliance status, and improvement initiatives for management review.
• Compile data and statistics for regulatory reporting and submissions related to safety and ISO compliance.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of ISO certification processes and audits.

4. Communication and Training:

• Communicate safety policies, procedures, and updates effectively to all levels of the organization.
• Provide guidance and support to employees on safety-related matters.
• Conduct safety inductions for new hires and contractors to familiarize them with safety protocols.
• Serve as a resource person for safety-related inquiries and concerns from employees.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety practices and ISO compliance.
• Propose and implement measures to streamline processes and improve efficiency in ISO and safety management systems.
• Actively seek feedback from stakeholders and incorporate suggestions for enhancing safety and ISO compliance efforts.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) is desirable.
• Previous experience in ISO compliance management and occupational health and safety.
• Strong understanding of ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in safety management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications and experience with safety management software is a plus.
