We are seeking an experienced QA/QC engineer or technician for a Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineering contractor company from one of the largest conglomerates in Japan.
Job Description
Quality Assurance & Control
- Develop, implement, and monitor the QA/QC plan, procedures, and inspection test plans (ITPs) for M&E projects.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, Malaysian standards, and international codes.
- Conduct inspections and witness testing of electrical and mechanical installations, including HV/LV/ELV, HVAC, fire-fighting, and plumbing systems.
- Verify materials, equipment, and workmanship meet quality requirements before installation and commissioning.
- Review and approve method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings.
Site Supervision & Inspection
- Carry out site inspections for installation works, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Raise NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), CARs (Corrective Action Reports), and follow up on closure.
- Ensure proper documentation of inspection requests (IR), material inspections (MIR), and test results.
- Supervise subcontractor works to ensure adherence to QA/QC standards.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain QA/QC records including test certificates, calibration reports, and inspection logs.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports for management and client review.
- Assist in project handover by compiling and verifying as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and quality dossiers.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with consultants, main contractors, and client representatives for inspections and approvals.
- Support the Project Manager in ensuring quality milestones are achieved without delays.
- Provide guidance and training to site teams on QA/QC processes and best practices.
- May involve outstation site visits and extended hours during critical project phases.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or relevant fields
- Own car
- At least 3-5 years experience in QA/QC for Electrical Construction projects
- Knowledge of HV, LV, ELV systems, including 33kV and 11kV power distribution, CCTV, PA, access control, structured cabling
- Familiarity with MS IEC Standards, ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and CIDB requirements
- Understanding of workplace safety regulations, DOSH requirements, HSE best practices
- Experience coordinating with Safety Officers or implementing quality-related safety procedures is an added advantage
