Job Summary:

If you are looking for an opportunity in the Quality function, then Emerson has a great opportunity for you! The Quality Control and Assurance Engineer will conduct incoming inspection and oversee fabrication activities. You will work closely with clients and inspectors for project testing and inspection activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct incoming inspections per GRI process for all buyout and systems projects to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Ensure fabrication activities of Skid and Shelter Fabricators align with relevant codes and project specifications, or basic engineering practices if specifications are absent, as outlined in the Inspection and Test Plan.
  • Coordinate all project testing and inspection activities by clients and third-party inspectors as per the Inspection Test Plan.
  • Prepare, review, follow up, and approve quality documentation and records for systems projects, including fabricator’s MDR and vendor documents, for final project documentation.
  • Follow Emerson EHS practices at all times, including at Fabricator/Site Inspection sites, and report lapses in Velocity/EHS reports.
  • Ensure the proficiency and qualification of fabricators meet international standards and division procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with at least 5 years in a quality role.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASME Sec IX, II (Part & C), ASME B 31.3, 31.8 & AWS D1.1.
  • Knowledge of testing requirements, welding & fabrication procedures, qualification tests, and relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to communicate and work with peers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Ability to manage in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of basic problem-solving tools (Fishbone, 5 Whys, FMEA, etc.).
  • Ownership, responsibility, and accountability for assigned projects, supporting the Project Manager on schedule and compliance.
  • Able to travel on short notice for site inspections.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field.
  • Certification as QMS Lead Auditor preferred.
  • Professional certifications in Welding (AWS, CISWIP), Painting (NACE), and NDE Level 2 are desirable.
  • Knowledge of Class rules (DNV, LR, ABS), NR requirements (Petrobras), ABS FOI rules is a plus.
