Importance of the Role
QA/QC Engineers play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of products and services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and enhancing the company’s reputation for excellence. Their work directly impacts project success, product quality, and overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance and Control: Develop and implement quality assurance plans, ensuring that processes are designed to meet quality standards and that products adhere to these standards or customer requirements.
- Inspection and Testing: Monitoring and conduct inspections and tests on materials and products to verify compliance with specifications and standards. This includes reviewing material technical data sheets and preparing method statements for approval.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive QA/QC documentation, including certificates, calibration records, test results, and inspection requests. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date upon internal and external parties’ audit.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal team from every department and customers to ensure quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle. This includes providing guidance on quality best practices and mentoring junior team members.
- Problem-Solving: Analyse quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to resolve quality-related challenges effectively with internal and external parties.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is required. Certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma,ISO) are advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in quality assurance tools, statistical analysis software, and familiarity with industry-specific standards and quality management systems. Strong understanding of quality tools and techniques, such as 7QC tools, root cause analysis, FMEA, and Control Plans.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English & Malay) to effectively collaborate with team members and report findings to management.
- Additional Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Familiar with ISO 9001:2015; internal auditor certification is an advantage.
- Skills of developing team members (training).
- Ability to handle customers and their requirement include to meet or presentation at customer side.
