Qualifications

Position Summary
Purpose

To execute and control the quality assurance of pressure vessel manufacturing systems in the facility and pressure piping, ensuring the quality meets Air Products’ specifications and relevant codes and standards.

Nature and Scope

The job holder is a QA Engineer in the Quality Department, reporting directly to the Quality Manager. Their responsibility is to maintain proper quality assurance for pressure vessel and pressure piping manufacturing processes.

Principal Accountabilities
  1. Control quality assurance for all pressure vessel manufacturing systems and pressure piping to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and Air Products standards.
  2. Supervise the ISO 9001 internal audit system and implement quality system improvements.
  3. Ensure product quality plans fully adhere to drawings, codes, and Air Products specifications.
  4. Manage non-conformance systems (VN) and delegate approval of deviations.
  5. Prepare Quality Plans and Inspection Test Plans.
  6. Develop pressure test procedures.
  7. Coordinate inspections with authorities or client inspectors.
  8. Train inspectors to enhance their skills and understanding of Air Products specifications.
  9. Develop quality procedures and work processes.
  10. Review preliminary designs and provide feedback to the design team.
  11. Review and prepare product dossiers for ASME U form and Malaysia’s PV certification.
  12. Maintain the Quality Management set and review in SAP.
  13. Act as the delegate when the Quality Manager is absent.
  14. Perform any other duties assigned.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Metallurgy Engineering.
  • Proficient in office software.
Other Skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with pressure vessel design, piping, manufacturing, inspection, and testing.
  • Knowledge of international codes and standards related to pressure vessels and piping.
  • Auditing skills in Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Work Experience
  • Background in pressure vessel, piping, machinery manufacturing, or materials/welding.
  • At least 5 years of QA experience in manufacturing pressure vessels and piping within the O&G industry, with inspection and testing skills.
  • Good knowledge of Malaysia/ASME codes and standards related to piping and pressure vessel design or manufacturing.
  • Some knowledge of NDE and welding.
  • Sensitivity to quality issues and strong problem-solving skills.
  • High accountability and performance orientation.
