Company and Job Overview

A prominent company specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of automotive components and accessories is seeking a group purchasing senior manager. You will be responsible for developing and executing group purchasing strategies, tracking metrics to reduce expenses, negotiating deals, and managing vendors.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
  2. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  3. Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
  4. Ensure clear requirements, forecast market trends, mitigate risks, and collaborate with stakeholders
  5. Analyze costs, scenarios, and benchmarks
  6. Seek and partner with trusted vendors and suppliers
  7. Determine the quantity and schedule of delivery
  8. Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand

Job Requirements

  1. Degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or any related field
  2. At least 10 years of purchasing experience in a large manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive industries with at least 8 years in managerial roles
  3. Familiar with sourcing and vendor management
  4. Interest in market dynamics, combined with business sense
  5. Experience in vendor management software and development, as well as data collection, analysis, and visualization skills
  6. Solid judgment and decision-making capabilities
  7. Strong leadership, negotiation, and networking skills
  8. Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status
