The Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and securing materials, spare parts, and consumables for ready-mixed concrete operations. This includes procurement for heavy commercial vehicles, machinery, and hydraulic systems essential to fleet and plant maintenance. The role requires strong negotiation skills, supplier coordination, and strict adherence to documentation, budgeting, and inventory protocols. Candidates must be familiar with industry standards, logistics regulations, and internal governance controls. Effective cross-functional communication with workshop, maintenance, and finance teams is essential. Attention to detail, technical awareness, and commitment to cost efficiency are key to supporting operational reliability and audit readiness.
Job schedule and working hours:
Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Mechanical Engineering
3–5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in construction, logistics, or manufacturing sectors
Strong knowledge of heavy commercial vehicles and machinery spare parts, including brands like Howo, Hohan and Nissan
Ability to source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for parts, consumables, and operational materials
Familiarity with procurement software and inventory systems, such as AutoCount, SAP, or SQL
Understanding of CIDB and industry-specific standards for ready-mixed concrete production and equipment maintenance
Experience in managing vendor relationships, price benchmarking, and delivery coordination
Knowledge of import/export procedures, customs documentation, and local logistics regulations
Ability to perform cost analysis and support budgeting decisions for fleet and plant maintenance
Strong documentation discipline, including purchase orders, delivery notes, and audit trail maintenance
Effective communication and coordination skills, especially with workshop, maintenance, and finance teams
Compliance with company governance policies, including approval hierarchies and internal control protocols
Understanding of hydraulic system spare parts, including hoses, fittings, cylinders, and seals used in batching plants, mixer trucks, and auxiliary equipment
