Job description

The position is responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing activities and managing the fixed asset efficiently and cost-effectively to support operations of the university.

Main Job Descriptions:

Your main responsibilities will include the following:

  1. Procurement Management
  2. Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and best practices that comply with the university’s regulations and standards.
  3. Manage vendor and supplier selection process based on price, quality, service support, capacity, and reliability.
  4. Develop, negotiate, and administer purchasing contracts and agreements with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of goods and services.
  5. Handle all purchase requests and place orders according to established procedures.
  6. Drive continuous improvement of purchasing processes in line with changing university needs and market conditions.

Fixed Asset Management

  1. Develop and recommend policies and procedures regarding fixed asset management and ensure proper documentation for each step in the process.
  2. Tag all fixed assets to provide physical evidence of custody by the University.
  3. Manage, record, and report on all transfers of ownership of assets, sales, recycling, or other dispositions of fixed assets in a timely manner.
  4. Develop procedures to inventory fixed assets, oversee and perform periodic or annual physical audits to verify the existence, nonexistence, or transfer of an asset, including recommendations for disposals of fixed assets and depreciation schedules.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least three years of professional work experience in finance, purchasing, asset management, or a closely related field.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
