SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
Manage and execute operational purchasing tasks for Indirect Materials (IM). Ensure efficiency, compliance, and value across the supply chain to support the company's business targets.
This role is based in Shah Alam, Selangor, reporting to the Associate Manager – Purchasing.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal departments to identify purchasing needs and plan IM requirements.
- Source, assess, and approve suppliers in designated IM categories, including conducting supplier audits when necessary.
- Negotiate and secure optimal purchasing agreements, adhering to the Tactical Purchasing Process and using established contract formats.
- Implement and manage regional and global supplier agreements for consistency and cost-efficiency.
- Place and follow up on purchase orders via IFS Matrix, ensuring alignment with contracts and company policies.
- Apply category management strategies to achieve cost savings and process improvements.
- Coordinate intercompany finished goods trading activities for the Sales team.
- Manage shipping documents, import duties, and SST exemptions for air and sea freight shipments.
- Participate in supplier site visits and internal audits with cross-functional teams.
- Track and report periodically to the Purchasing Manager.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in Purchasing.
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in a related field.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
