About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our dynamic team at TRANSPAK SPECIALIZED PACKAGING SDN. BHD. in Kulai, Johor. This full-time position is crucial in supporting our Purchasing department to ensure smooth and efficient procurement processes.

What you'll be doing

• Assist the Senior Purchasing Officer in all purchasing-related activities, including sourcing, negotiation, and order placement
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchase orders, invoices, and other procurement documentation
• Liaise with suppliers to coordinate deliveries, resolve any issues, and ensure timely fulfilment of orders
• Provide administrative support to the Purchasing team, such as data entry, filing, and reporting
• Collaborate with the Inventory team to monitor stock levels and identify opportunities for cost savings
• Participate in the development and implementation of procurement policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a Purchasing or Procurement role, preferably within the Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics industry
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
• Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and under tight deadlines
