As a Purchasing Executive, you will be essential in sourcing high-quality, authentic ingredients, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Job Responsibilities:
- Handle full spectrum of purchasing duties for food ingredients, packaging, kitchen equipment, maintenance supplies, and general F&B operation needs.
- Manage end-to-end procurement for new outlet openings, including kitchen equipment, initial inventory, furniture, and fixture procurement.
- Coordinate and procure items related to general maintenance, repair works, and refurbishment across outlets.
- Work closely with chefs and operations team to ensure the timely sourcing of high-quality and cost-effective ingredients specific to Chinese cuisine.
- Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate best-value deals covering pricing, quality, supply reliability, delivery timelines, and service levels.
- Evaluate and compare quotations for all major purchases.
- Monitor market trends and fluctuations in raw material prices, particularly for core Chinese ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with internal purchasing policies and seek ways to improve cost efficiency and supply chain stability.
- Collaborate with storekeepers on monthly stock takes and investigate stock discrepancies with the accounts team.
- Track PO placement versus inventory levels across all outlets to prevent shortages and overstocking.
- Supervise and guide outlet storekeepers to ensure procurement procedures and inventory practices are followed properly.
- Prepare summary reports on purchasing performance, supplier evaluations, and cost analysis.
- Carry out other procurement-related duties and projects as assigned by the General Manager.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or equivalent.
- Minimum 1-2 years of purchasing experience in the F&B industry, preferably with exposure to Chinese cuisine operations.
- Strong understanding of sourcing food ingredients and familiarity with related suppliers is an added advantage.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and take full ownership of the procurement function.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in resolving issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with inventory management systems is preferred.
- Willing to travel to outlets and vendors as necessary.
