The company has three manufacturing sites and research and development offices in Penang, producing automotive electronics, power tools and steering systems, and now a fourth plant with a final testing centre for sensors and semiconductors.

PgP5 Plant is Bosch Group’s newest expansion in Malaysia a semiconductor test site in Batu Kawan Penang. The construction has begun in May 2021 and first series of production commenced in 2023. With the long-term forecasts for growth of semiconductor component quantities, coupled with the front-end production in Bosch’s Dresden facility in Germany, capacity expansion is required for the back-end production, which is the final testing phase of semiconductors and sensors. PgP5 will primarily focus on the final testing of components manufactured at Bosch Automotive Electronics’ fab in Dresden, Germany. The plant will also house R&D and training facilities.

Job Description

• Manage and maintain the master data related to purchasing, including supplier information, material master data, and other relevant purchasing data.
• Be a key user of the purchasing IT system, including providing support, training, and guidance to other users, as well as being responsible for system configuration and optimization.
• Provide support using the purchasing system for the annual price negotiation process, including data analysis, reporting, and system troubleshooting, etc.
• Manage purchasing contracts using IT systems, including creating, updating, and maintaining contracts, as well as ensuring compliance and adherence to contract terms.
• Arrange travel for purchasing staff, including booking flights, accommodations, and other travel-related logistics.
• Create purchase orders for samples and tooling, including coordinating with suppliers, ensuring accuracy of orders, and managing the procurement process for these specific items.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 to 5 years working experience in Commercial, Engineering or Supply Chain or Semiconductor related field
• Possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Commercial, Engineering or Supply Chain
• Diversity to work with global team, international background is preferred & great team player
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) with effective communication.
• Possess high team spirit and ability to moderate meetings/workshops with all levels
• Knowhow of digitalization is welcomed e.g., Power BI, Dashboard
• Proactive with good problem-solving skills to ensure smooth purchasing processes.
• Possess good IT skills: managing purchasing data, generating reports, and optimizing purchasing processes by SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Structured and independent working style with minimal supervision
• Good at managing multiple tasks, prioritizing work, and maintaining accurate purchasing records.
