Job description

About The Team

We’re looking for a sharp, proactive communicator to join our growing communications team in Malaysia. As PR Senior Associate / Assistant Manager, you will help shape public perception of Sea by managing media engagement, supporting integrated campaigns, and delivering strategic communications that align with our business priorities.

This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a matrixed environment, collaborates across functions, and brings both strategic thinking and hands-on execution. As part of Sea, you will get to work with our teams from other business units, such as Shopee and Monee, to craft narratives that resonate with media, partners, and the public — while supporting policy, product, and brand-level initiatives.

As a key player in shaping our public image, you will support critical business objectives and Government Affairs initiatives. You will use your exceptional communication and relationship- building abilities to manage media relations, lead impactful communication campaigns, and contribute to our overall brand and communications strategy. This is a pivotal role for anyone passionate about driving meaningful connections and enhancing organizational visibility.

Job Description

  • Media and External Communications
  • Cultivate and manage strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, editors, influencers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Act as a key point of contact for external inquiries, ensuring timely, strategic, and accurate responses.
  • Develop and pitch compelling narratives and strategic communications to secure positive exposure and support organisational goals.
  • Research industry trends, competitor activities, and the media landscape to identify opportunities and risks..
  • Plan and manage strategic media communication events and engagements.
  • Integrated Campaign Management
  • Develop and execute communication strategies for major campaigns, product launches, or public affairs-led projects.
  • Collaborate with brand, marketing, and policy teams to ensure alignment in messaging and positioning.
  • Manage partners in all aspects of campaign execution, including resource allocation, budget tracking, content creation, partnership development, and performance analysis. Manage campaign timelines, content development, and agency/vendor coordination.
  • Strategic Communications & Issues Preparedness:
