Job description

We are currently searching for a Proofreader/Editor in the Quality Assurance (QA) department.

Based in Petaling Jaya, your role will be to ensure that the highest quality of language is used in written documents issued by the company, focusing on technical accuracy, grammatical correctness, and contextual appropriateness. You will collaborate across all departments and levels within the company. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Job Responsibilities

1. Providing reviewed and edited reports (internal and external)
2. Controlling the quality of reports to ensure clarity, consistency, completeness, and credibility
3. Ensuring material and text are well written, grammatically correct, and contextually accurate
4. Reviewing images and photos for correct captions and contextual references
5. Correcting spelling, grammar, and layout; rewriting content when necessary
6. Assessing reporting capabilities and employee progress
7. Coordinating with management to improve reporting processes
8. Verifying the comprehensiveness of media searches
9. Translating documents between Malay and English
10. Developing and reviewing modules and procedures for report-writing and English communication skills
11. Conducting training and coaching for internal staff

Job Requirements

• High integrity and professionalism
• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in English, Journalism, or related fields
• At least 3 years of experience in editing or proofreading roles
• Proficiency in English and Malay, both written and spoken
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace
• TOEFL iBT score of 100 or higher, or equivalent IELTS score
• Excellent attention to detail, spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills
• Strong teamwork and time management skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work extended hours if necessary
• Familiarity with ChatGPT and other editing tools
• Experience in research, content/report writing, or translation is preferred (portfolio required if available)
