Project Support Engineer (based in Johor) in Kuala Lumpur at Logicalis

Accountabilities:
  • Perform structured cabling and network system installation.
  • Perform UTP and fiber optic patch cord patching between switches and panels.
  • Install and configure network switches, perform remote desktop support, and install wireless access points.
  • Identify, track, and troubleshoot UTP and fiber optic cables; ensure cables are neatly tied and compliant with safety standards.
  • Test new or relocated cables following established procedures.
  • Record time and materials used for tasks.
  • Assist team members with network equipment.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for clients regarding network and cabling issues.
  • Communicate effectively with clients via phone, email, or Teams chats, providing clear instructions.
  • Resolve network-related issues promptly.
  • Prioritize and manage workflow efficiently.
  • Maintain records of system issues and adhere to resolution timelines.
  • Follow standard procedures to escalate issues internally.
  • Maintain procedural documents and reports.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues using customer input.
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of experience in a site construction environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, at heights, and in confined spaces.
  • Proficient in operating hand tools, power tools, ladders, and network testing equipment.
  • Familiar with Cisco and other network products.
  • Monitor daily performance of technical systems.
  • Follow up with clients and contractors to ensure network systems function properly after troubleshooting.
  • Maintain procedural documents and reports.
  • Follow standard procedures to resolve issues by coordinating with internal departments.
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers.
