Project Planner – Cabling Infrastructure

Our client is an established international technology and infrastructure organisation delivering structured cabling, connectivity and IT infrastructure solutions to major data centre and enterprise clients globally.
Due to continued growth across the APAC region, they are looking for a Project Planner to support the planning and delivery of cabling infrastructure projects.
This is a new opportunity within a growing regional planning function, offering the chance to work across multiple projects and help develop effective planning processes across the business.
As Project Planner, you will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Teams, Design, Commercial and clients to develop and maintain detailed project programmes.
You will be responsible for ensuring project activities, resources, materials and key milestones are accurately planned and monitored, helping projects remain on schedule, within budget and aligned with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed programmes for structured cabling and data infrastructure projects.
- Work closely with Project Managers, engineers, design teams and clients to establish project scope, timelines and resource requirements.
- Monitor project progress against programme and identify delays, risks and potential impacts to delivery.
- Support EOT, programme compression, resource scheduling and other programme changes.
- Coordinate procurement and material call-off schedules to support critical project activities.
- Attend project kick-off meetings, site visits and planning meetings.
- Review technical drawings, floor plans and project documentation to understand project requirements.
- Monitor project hours, costs and resource utilisation to identify trends and support forecasting.
- Assess scope changes, additional works, cost trends and their potential impact on programme.
- Support the development of project timetables and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate resources and activities to ensure projects remain aligned with approved budgets and delivery requirements.
- Work with estimating and design teams to understand equipment, labour, installation and material requirements.
- Maintain accurate project planning documentation, reports and programme updates.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure activities are completed safely, compliantly and on schedule.
- Support multiple projects simultaneously across the region.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working as a Project Planner, Planning Engineer, Project Scheduler or similar.
- Experience planning infrastructure, construction, cabling, connectivity or data centre projects.
- Strong understanding of structured cabling, data centre or network infrastructure projects.
- Experience developing and managing detailed project programmes.
- Experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or similar planning software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, floor plans and schematics.
- Understanding of project commercial and contractual interfaces, including programme changes and extensions of time.
- Experience with resource planning, forecasting and project cost monitoring.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Microsoft Project.
- Willingness to travel to customer/project sites when required.
- Experience specifically within data centres or structured cabling.
- Experience with infrastructure installation projects.
- BICSI, CNCI, ECS or equivalent industry certification.
- Experience working across large-scale enterprise or hyperscale data centre environments.
