Job summary

Emerson Malaysia is seeking a Material Planning professional to develop and maintain robust material management plans that align with project needs, supplier lead times, and logistics milestones. You will work closely with Project Managers and Engineering to synchronize procurement with schedules and release plans.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with ERP/MRP systems such as Oracle or SAP, and the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Electrical or Supply Chain related field.
• Experience with material planning, production planning, or project coordination.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (Oracle or SAP).
• Strong analytical and data reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, own, and maintain a comprehensive Material Management Plan linked to project needs, lead times, approvals, and logistics milestones.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineering teams to align procurement activities with project schedules.
• Plan procurement timing considering supplier lead times, approvals, and transportation requirements.
• Manage pre-order planning activities including requisitions, scheduling, and readiness reviews.
• Expedite open purchase orders and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor material movement, inbound shipments, logistics planning, and site delivery readiness.
• Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams for receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials.
• Maintain material tracking tools: PO status, delivery dates, and risk registers.
• Provide updates on material performance, delivery metrics, and project risks to stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate material supply risks with cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate material impact of project changes and update planning requirements.
