Project Manager – Renewable Energy Construction Projects

To oversee and manage renewable energy projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery. Responsibilities include the following:

Plan, execute, and monitor renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, or related systems.

Develop project scopes, objectives, budgets, and timelines in alignment with company goals.

Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and external consultants.

Report directly to company directors or top management on project progress, challenges, and outcomes.

Liaise with other department heads (HODs) to ensure seamless coordination and alignment across departments for project success.

Liaise with investors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to maintain clear communication and ensure alignment with project goals.

Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and project specifications.

Coordinate with authorities such as ST, SEDA, TNB, and other regulatory bodies to secure approvals, ensure compliance, and address project-related matters.

Manage procurement, logistics, and contractor relationships to optimize resources.

Monitor construction progress, resolve issues, and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Conduct regular project reviews and prepare detailed progress reports for stakeholders.

Oversee quality assurance and safety measures throughout the project lifecycle.

Control project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effectiveness.

Ensure all project deliverables meet performance, technical, and financial benchmarks.

Identify opportunities for process improvements in project management practices.

Undertake ad hoc tasks or assignments as required by senior management.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.

At least 8 years of experience in construction project management, with a preference for candidates who have managed renewable energy projects.

Proven ability to lead complex projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

Strong knowledge of construction processes, local regulations, and environmental standards.

Familiarity with dealing with ST, SEDA, TNB, and other relevant authorities.

Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as MS Project or Primavera.

Excellent leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.

Fluent in Mandarin (mandatory for reporting to the China HQ), along with strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Possesses a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.

Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours when necessary.
