Job description

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer project management plans and processes to successfully deliver projects while meeting the cost, timescale and quality parameters in line with overall businessobjectives and needs, Group guidelines and policies.
  • Execute project management plans and processes for successful execution of projects
  • Draft project plans to deliver projects to achieve required quality standard, on time and on budget
  • Instruct and review the output of functional project team or individual project managers
  • Report deviations on project expenditure to adhere to defined project budget
  • Track project milestones, report and update progress and performance against the project plan
  • Recognize and resolve operational problems and minimize delays in the delivery of projects
  • Execute project risk mitigation action plans to minimize projects risks
  • Support implementation of project results to create targeted impact
  • Understand business processes, identify opportunities/ solutions and prioritize projects according to relevant measurement criteria
  • Act as a liaison between different project stakeholders
  • Determine project resources, conduct performance reviews and post implementation evaluations
  • Connect with and influence other specialist departments and 3rd parties e.g. external service providers
  • May convince others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches
  • Build strong, trusting cross-functional relationships with DHL managers
  • Understand customer and key stakeholders interests and concerns and advise direct reports, customers and key stakeholders
  • Provide technical guidance to line managers and employees
  • Manage business and project risks, including the development of contingency plans according to the needs of the projects being managed
  • Act as a trouble shooter when requested, to provide advice and support to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the agreed specifications
  • Conduct/ facilitate (where necessary) reviews to assess the success of the project
  • Report regularly on project progress

Stakeholders Management

External

  • Ensure that external stakeholders are consulted on direction, progress, goals and project issues

Internal

  • Contribute to development and communication to steer direction of the BPO’s project pipeline strategy
  • Ensure the project’s direction and progress is communicated to all stakeholders
  • Work with functional experts and workgroups in defining appropriate solutions for project.

Management Responsibility

  • No direct reports but expected to display our Respect & Results behaviors
  • Individual contributor who may manage two or fewer employees
  • May direct the work of other lower level professionals or manage processes and programs
  • Coach and review the work of lower level professionals

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Qualification

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree

Expected (Years of) Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years working experience in a project management capacity,
  • Ideally previous experience gained with DHL with a comprehensive knowledge of the DHL Express network
  • Good understanding of transportation, express, import and export operations and regulations
  • Good understanding of project management processes and methods, preferably relevant certification (e.g. PRINCE 2)
  • Well-developed analytical skills with related experience in the use of structured methodologies, modelling techniques and tools and / or willingness to adopt newtechniques. Relevant certification (Power BI or Tableau) preferred
  • Excellent PC skills and IT aptitude including a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office products and use of modelling tools
  • Demonstrable experience in the analysis, design and implementation of business and IT solutions
  • Practical experience of business process analysis, mapping and implementing process change
  • Highly motivated with an ability to manage varying workloads against timescales as well as small teams of analysts and subject matter experts
  • Good facilitation skills
  • Strong creative thinking and the ability to see the ‘bigger picture’
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Understanding of the existing processes and solutions of DHL Express with strong business acumen
  • Understanding of the principles of change management
  • Willing to travel to DHL Locations
