Project Manager Engineering (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager Engineering to join our team at FPG Oleochemicals Sdn Bhd in Kuantan, Pahang. This is a full-time temporary position responsible for overseeing and coordinating various engineering projects within our organization. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our engineering initiatives.

What you'll be doing

Manage the planning, execution, monitoring and control of multiple engineering projects

Owns planning for and executing the project per the CPS and is responsible for overseeing Lean IPD execution to find savings opportunities and synergies.

Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance and procurement, to ensure seamless project delivery

Identify and mitigate project risks, and implement appropriate contingency plans

Manage the technical deliverables such as scope definition/design, change management, communication/interface management, security, legal requirements, and startup support.

Continuously look for opportunities to optimise project processes and implement best practices

What we're looking for

Degree in Engineering or a related technical field

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the engineering/manufacturing industry

Proven track record of successfully managing multiple concurrent engineering projects

Strong technical understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies and industry best practices

Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

Proficient in project management tools and software

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities

Our oleochemical operations is strategically located in the Kuantan Port industrial area. Our plant commenced operations in 1993 and is one of the largest oleochemical companies in the world.

Our range of products include natural-based industrial fatty alcohol, methyl ester and refined glycerin. Our products are all sold to P&G, one of the largest consumer products company in the world, which has a large captive use of these oleochemical products for their internal business.

Our principal raw material is palm kernel oil which is sourced primarily from Malaysian producers.

Our products meet stringent international standards and certification. The plant has won numerous awards over the years, including various safety awards from MSOSH. It was also previously voted the best oleochemical company in Malaysia by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board.
