Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Project Manager to lead planning, execution, and delivery of a major data center development in Malaysia. You will oversee the project from civil works and piling through to final commissioning, ensuring schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives are met.

Prior data center project experience is highly preferred; candidates who have managed or been involved in DC projects from piling to commissioning are ideal.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full project lifecycle from planning to commissioning.
• Develop and monitor the project schedule with key milestones.
• Track progress, identify risks, and implement mitigations.
• Prepare and manage budgets, costs, and cash flow.
• Coordinate procurement, construction, testing, and handover.
• Ensure QA/QC and HSE compliance across activities.
• Manage client, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead meetings and drive alignment on scope and changes.
• Prepare status reports and executive summaries.

Role Summary

Key Responsibilities

1. Full Project Oversight

• Lead the project lifecycle including planning, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor the project schedule, ensuring timely execution of milestones.
• Track and report progress, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

2. Budget & Financial Management

• Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets, costs, and cash flow.
• Review contractor invoices, progress claims, and financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining project quality and timelines.

3. Stakeholder & Contractor Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Facilitate regular project meetings (daily, weekly, monthly) and strategy sessions to drive alignment.
• Resolve conflicts and manage changes in scope or requirements proactively.
• Ensure all parties understand contractual obligations and project deliverables.

4. Quality & Safety Leadership

• Oversee QA/QC and HSE compliance across all project activities.
• Ensure that all works are executed according to contractual specifications, codes, and standards.
• Monitor contractor safety practices and enforce adherence to PTW, LOTO, and other HSE requirements.
• Drive project strategy, schedule optimization, and risk management.
• Prepare and present regular status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries to senior management.
• Ensure proper documentation of all project deliverables, meeting minutes, and commissioning records.
• Ensure commissioning and handover activities are properly planned and executed.
• Coordinate integrated systems testing and final acceptance with client representatives.
• Ensure readiness of all operational teams and facilities for turnover.
