Job summary

Emerson in Malaysia Nilai seeks a customer-focused Project Manager to lead project execution from award to completion in line with PMO processes. You will coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, logistics and other cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and profitability.

The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical/electrical/instrumentation engineering, at least 5 years in industrial manufacturing or EPC, strong stakeholder management, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in industrial manufacturing, EPC, flow control, valves, instrumentation, or related industries.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong customer communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of project financial management and change order management.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel based on project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of assigned projects from award through completion in accordance with Emerson PMO processes.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, commercial, technical, and quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and other cross-functional teams to ensure timely project execution.
  • Monitor project performance, proactively identify risks, and implement mitigation plans.
  • Manage project changes, variation orders, and commercial opportunities to improve project profitability.
  • Lead customer kick-off meetings, progress reviews, inspections, and project closeout activities.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, and business partners through effective communication and stakeholder management.
  • Track project KPIs and provide regular status updates to internal management and external customers.
  • Ensure accurate project documentation and successful project handover.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in industrial manufacturing, EPC, flow control, valves, instrumentation, or related industries.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong customer communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of project financial management and change order management.

  • Willingness to travel based on project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
  • Experience with engineered flow control products, including control valves, actuators, and regulators.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, ASTM, IEC, and ISA.
  • Experience managing complex international or EPC projects.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and best practices.
