We are pleased to offer an opportunity for a seasoned professional to join our Drilling Business Division.

About the Role

Responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Company’s integrated drilling and completion services projects—from opportunity sourcing to pre-award planning and negotiation. This role includes leading internal and external stakeholder engagement from preliminary opportunity sourcing stage until the contract is awarded, ensuring the successful delivery of projects that align with Velesto’s long-term business strategy and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all pre-ITB activities (market survey, RFI, Pre-Q) to position Velesto as a preferred partner in upcoming projects.
  • Lead and coordinate the internal resources on the preparation of i-RDC technical and commercial proposals for bidding phase.
  • Develop negotiation strategies and assist the negotiation teams with potential business partners to establish joint collaboration in securing new i-RDC projects /contracts to ensure the achievement of Velesto’s desired business objectives as well as ensuring Velesto’s interests are well protected.
  • Develop procedure in managing i-RDC new business and ensure that it is strictly implemented and complied with by all internal stakeholders.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop risk matrix related to the i-RDC business
  • Work with internal stakeholders’ HOD to optimize Velesto’s processes in order to ensure Velesto’s readiness in undertaking i-RDC business in a controlled, efficient and safe manner.
  • Key Team Member of Velesto negotiation team to negotiate with Clients and partners on the contractual terms and conditions.
  • Interface with internal departments within the Group e.g. Operations, Finance, HSE, HR and Legal to ensure that the terms negotiated for i-RDC contract with the external Parties (Clients or partners) are to the best interest of Velesto.
  • Liaise with Legal team to prepare proposed amendments to i-RDC contract terms during contract negotiation to reflect Velesto’s position.
  • Provide support and guidance to contract management team in i-RDC contractual negotiation and dispute resolution. Liaise with Legal Department with reference to significant i-RDC contractual/ commercial issues.
  • Provide support and guidance to contract management team for the administration of any back charges, concession notices or potential claims, participate in the evaluation, negotiation and settlement related to i-RDC contracts.
  • Implement Opportunity Management, Contract Performance Management, and other business systems.
  • Manage Licensing Assurance Review, renewal of operating licenses, streamlining, and adding more Standardized Work & Equipment Categories (SWEC) codes to Velesto and associated legal entities.
  • Develop and coach commercial and marketing organization.
  • Lead commercial agreements and contracting with partners and clients. Managing pre-qualification and implementation of new businesses with O&G Operators and other companies.
  • Manage customer performance improvements to align with company business top line growth and achieve high revenue.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum/ Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Project Management Certification is an added advantage.

Required Skills

  • Possesses good technical understanding of rig drilling and completions operations.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a team of individuals from diverse background (Finance, HSE, legal, Operation, procurement, HR).
  • Ability to conduct SWOT analysis and risk assessment.
  • Ability to engage and negotiate with Clients and partners on technical and commercial matters.
  • Ability to review and amend contractual clauses.
  • Good understanding of P&L and ability to develop financial/ commercial model.
  • Leadership skills to plan, manage and deliver a project from end to end with minimum guidance.
  • Possesses all required computer skills to Velesto Enterprise programs, Microsoft Office and Projects.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years or more experience in one of these positions: Rig Manager, Project Manager, Integrated Drilling Services Manager or at least 10 years of experience in drilling operations or project management.
  • Experience in managing pre-qualification, commercial negotiations, tenders, and new business development.
