Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Project Technical Lead Engineer to drive the technical execution of Automation and Communication projects from inception to close-out. You will translate customer requirements into cost-effective technical solutions and align engineering tasks with project timelines.

You will act as the main technical liaison to customers and internal stakeholders, coordinate design activities, and ensure quality, safety, and compliance throughout the project

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in electrical, automation, communication, power systems or related field.
• Typically 10–15+ years of relevant project engineering experience in power/automation/infrastructure projects.
• Ability to review technical documents, coordinate with stakeholders and drive actions to closure.
• Strong communication, ownership, problem solving and documentation skills.

The Opportunity

You'll be leading the technical engineering execution of Automation and Communication projects, acting as the Project Technical Lead Engineer for assigned projects. Translating customer requirements and contract specifications into a clear, cost-effective Hitachi Energy technical solution concept; planning and coordinating engineering tasks; review detailed engineering deliverables; support testing, FAT, installation, commissioning, SAT, as-built documentation and project close-out feedback. Ensuring that technical quality, safety, customer acceptance, cost, schedule, risk and contractual technical requirements are managed throughout the full project lifecycle.

Your background

• Strong communication, ownership, problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Good working knowledge of common office and collaboration tools. Training will be provided for company-specific tools, templates and in-house processes.
