About the role

We are seeking a talented Engineer to join our dynamic team at Sediacom Sdn Bhd based in Melaka. As a Civil Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our construction projects, utilising your expertise to deliver high-quality infrastructure that drives progress within the local community. This is a full-time position offering opportunities for professional growth and development.

What you'll be doing :

• Examine and resolve discrepancies in project drawings and Bills of Quantities (BQ).
• Prepare the project budget and develop the initial project schedule, ensuring the resolution of scheduling conflicts through regular updates and securing final approval from the Top Management.
• Supervise daily construction activities to ensure execution in line with cost, time, quality, and safety requirements, coordinating closely with the Construction Team and client representatives.
• Monitor the progress of each phase of project planning and deliver timely status updates to the Project Manager.
• Promptly address project issues and escalate matters to appropriate parties as needed.
• Manage the application and documentation process for project insurance, work permits, bank guarantees, and other necessary approvals.
• Liaise with local authorities to obtain required project permits within stipulated deadlines.
• Prepare and submit monthly project claims ahead of the contractual submission cut-off date.
• Ensure timely collection of project claim payments into the company’s bank account following claim submission.
• Manage and oversee proper project handover to the client upon completion.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned from time to time by the management.

What we're looking for :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Possesses valuable experience in the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of 11kV, 33kV, and 132kV underground power cable projects, or in related fields, enhancing project execution efficiency.
• Experience in infrastructure and electrical construction projects will be an added advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project) is preferred.
• Proficiency in English and Malay.
• Must be able to commence work immediately.
