Job Description
Responsible for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling assigned projects. The Project Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and safe project completion, complying with safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
Modification Planning:
- Assess and analyze existing systems, equipment, and structures to identify opportunities for improvement or modification.
- Develop comprehensive modification plans, considering technical feasibility, cost implications, and regulatory compliance.
Project:
- Brainstorm and propose alternative solutions to identified improvement areas.
- Provide continuous feedback and implement Equipment Improvement Programs in collaboration with superiors.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay current with industry standards and regulations related to modifications.
- Ensure all modifications adhere to relevant safety and compliance standards.
Project Management:
- Manage modification projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to facilitate successful project execution.
Risk Assessment:
- Conduct risk assessments for proposed modifications and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with safety and environmental teams to align modifications with overall risk management goals.
Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for all modification projects, including design specifications, project plans, and as-built documentation.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or Structural Engineering, or relevant 3 to 5 years of maintenance experience in container port equipment.
- At least 3 years of experience in mechanical or electrical areas of container port equipment.
- Knowledge of RTG/Quay Crane systems, hydraulics, machinery, or electrical installation systems is an advantage.
- Ability to coordinate project site execution with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly motivated and capable of working independently.
- Ability to manage a team of contractors/sub-contractors on-site.
- Resourceful, well-organized, with initiative and leadership qualities, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer literate; fluent in English and Malay (verbal and written).
- Strong reasoning abilities and sound judgment.
- Able to work at heights and outdoors.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
