Job summary

Nestlé S.A. in Malaysia is seeking an Engineer to drive capital investment projects at the Chembong Factory in Negeri Sembilan.

You will oversee design, procurement, construction, testing and start-up, ensuring compliance with the project charter, Nestlé standards and safety requirements. You will coordinate with End to End Project Manager and Manufacturing teams to deliver on time, within budget and with high reliability, while promoting safe operations and sustainable practices across the life

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical and Automation or related discipline.
• Experience in handling manufacturing projects.
• 3 years experience preferably in capital investment projects development and implementation in food industry.
• Experience in determining methods to minimize injuries or damages to people or equipment (SHE).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and start-up capital investment projects following the investment charter and Nestlé standards.
• Support development of project charter and ensure strict adherence during the project.
• Ensure safety, quality, affordability, maintainability and reliability throughout design and execution.
• Coordinate contractors and ensure Nestlé standards are applied and sustainable solutions are promoted.
• Support startup and handover to operations with proper documentation and feedback.

Job description

Ensure design, implementation and start-up phases of capital investment projects on the manufacturing site, following the investment project charter, design specifications and Nestlé standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Before starting the project design phase: Support the End to End Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in developing the investment project charter and see to it that it is strictly followed throughout the project.

During project design phase : Based on: Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, the Nestlé standards, the local regulations, the defined User Requirements Specifications, the TPM characteristics of a unit operation (safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability and reliability) and, on top of all the previous, the workers safety during both, the construction and the further operation of the plant, execute the basic design and then the detailed design.

During the project implementation phase: Get the engineering side of the project implemented (e.g. buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the URS and the characteristics of a unit operation, all the elements of the project (including technical people training, as needed) in such a way that safety is always guaranteed on the whole project site and a vertical start-up is assured.
Select and qualify contractors and coordinate their activities. Ensure that the Nestlé standards are applied. Promote development of environment-friendly and sustainable solutions

During the start-up phase of the project: Support the start-up manager and her/his team, to assure a smooth transition to operations, after the qualification and the verification of the installation have been finalized.
Support in preparing and distributing the project documentation of engineering, including the engineering part of the project final report and provide feedback to the Maintenance Prevention System.

During the whole project life: Promote development of environmental-friendly and sustainable solutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical and Automation, and related discipline
• With experience in handling manufacturing projects
• 3 years experience preferably in capital investment projects development and implementation in food industry
• With experience in determining methods to minimize the likelihood of injuries or damages to people and/or equipment (SH&E)
• Experience in factory operations
• Willing to be assigned in Chembong Factory in Negeri Sembilan
