Job summary

Spencer Ogden seeks a Project Engineer to support an ongoing HV substation project in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. You will coordinate engineering, procurement, subcontractors and site delivery, including HV transformer installation, cabling and related civil/structural activities, reporting to the Project Manager.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering and 3–7 years of HV substation project experience, with hands-on live substation exposure and knowledge of GIS/AIS, transformers and HV

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of HV substation project experience.
• Hands-on live substation experience, with knowledge of GIS/AIS, transformers and HV switchgear.
• Experience in testing, commissioning and TNB coordination.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering, subcontractors, suppliers and site activities.
• Review technical documents, specifications and vendor proposals.
• Support HV installation, testing, commissioning, FAT/SAT and quality inspections.
• Maintain technical documentation and resolve quality issues.
• Liaise with TNB on energisation, switching and permit requirements.

Contract: Until May 2027, with potential extension

Spencer Ogden is seeking a Project Engineer to support an ongoing HV substation project.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will coordinate engineering, procurement, subcontractors and site delivery across works including an additional HV transformer installation, cabling and associated civil and structural activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering, subcontractors, suppliers and site activities.
• Review technical documents, specifications and vendor proposals.
• Support HV installation, testing, commissioning, FAT/SAT and quality inspections.
• Maintain technical documentation and resolve quality issues.
• Liaise with TNB on energisation, switching and permit requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of HV substation project experience.
• Hands‑on live substation experience, with knowledge of GIS/AIS, transformers and HV switchgear.
• Experience in testing, commissioning and TNB coordination.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and quality documentation.

Working Hours: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, with potential 6-day weeks during energisation and commissioning. Site attendance and weekend work may be required.
